| 3-17-05 We are getting closer to spring and open water each day. If you haven’t started yet, now is the time to get you gear ready for the start of another season of fishing adventures. How old is the line on your reels. When was the last time you cleaned and oiled your reels? You should check you fishing rods also for nicks and don’t forget to check the eyes on your rods. Take an inventory of your tackle to see what you need to replace or restock. Are your hooks sharp and in good shape or are they dull and starting to rust. Try replacing them with red hooks to imitate a bleeding bait. Bass season opens May 28 north of Hwy 200 and west of Hwy 53 in northern Minnesota. It opens May 14 south of 200 and east of 53. |
